Also known as the Poppy Sisters, these two are named for Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot the original choreographers of Giselle. Initially they were conceived as a pair that wouldn’t need men to partner them, in case of a small male element in the cast, possibly with more virtuosity in their choreography. I imagine they are twins, younger than the other village girls, playful, mischievous, perpetually cheerful, and full of hope. They help with the harvest but because of their youth they are not expected to take on that kind of responsibility yet so they do not wear the aprons of working women.
